Campground Commitments
Nature is our passion. Every year, more than 50 trees are planted on the grounds of our campground, which is committed to its local community, between Salou and Tarragona. Our themed gardens, including the exotic garden with its cacti and succulents, visible from the cafeteria terrace are meticulously and respectfully maintained. Our mascot, “La Palmira,” located at the entrance to the site, symbolizes this deep connection to the natural world.
Our concrete actions to protect the environment:
- Waste reduction and recycling: 10 bins for packaging, 10 for glass, 10 for organic waste, and 10 for cardboard and paper.
- Planting drought-tolerant native plants using natural fertilizers (biochar, leonardite).
- Rainwater and well water collection for drip irrigation.
- Pool water treatment using saltwater electrolysis, reducing chemical use by 90%.
- Gradual installation of solar-powered lighting along the walkways.
- Raising awareness among employees and customers about eco-friendly practices throughout the season.
- Awareness campaign against plastic and cigarette butts.
Environmental Initiatives in the Province of Tarragona
The province of Tarragona is itself committed to preserving its natural areas. Just a few kilometers from the campground, the Natura 2000 area and the Ebro Delta, the second-largest wetland in the western Mediterranea embody this environmental richness. Freshwater lagoons, dunes, riparian forests, and an exceptional variety of birdlife make it a must-visit destination for nature lovers.
Our eco-friendly campground near Tarragona is fully in line with this approach. Sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) andwater-efficient irrigation help reduce the site’s water footprint. Trees and green spaces actively mitigate urban heat islands, offering campers a natural coolness found nowhere else in Salou.
During your stay, we invite you to take the time to observe the biodiversity around you—mushrooms, birds, pollinating insects, and more—and to follow our staff’s advice so that these natural treasures can be preserved for future generations. Discover the outdoor activities and events we offer in this unspoiled natural setting, not to mention the campground’s amenities, as well as our restaurant and cafeteria, Terrassa Els Cactus.
